Ingredients

  • Breads and Crackers: Baguette, mini toasts, or sturdy crackers
  • Cheeses: Whipped cream cheese or mascarpone, goat cheese, Parmesan
  • Proteins: Smoked salmon, rotisserie chicken (or pre-cooked chicken), prosciutto (optional)
  • Produce: English cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, strawberries, grapes, radishes, lemons, limes, fresh dill, chives, basil, mint, arugula, avocado
  • Pantry: Olive oil, honey, Dijon mustard, balsamic glaze, capers, everything bagel seasoning, flaky sea salt, black pepper
  • Extras (Pretty Touches): Edible flowers (optional), microgreens, toothpicks or cocktail skewers

Instructions

  • Make Herbed Whip: In a bowl, beat 8 oz whipped cream cheese (or mascarpone) with 2 tbsp chopped dill, 1 tbsp chopped chives, 1 tsp lemon zest, and a pinch of salt and pepper. This becomes your base spread for multiple bites.
  • Toast the Crostini: Slice a baguette into 1/2-inch rounds. Brush with olive oil and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 8–10 minutes until golden. Cool completely for crisp edges.
  • Smoked Salmon Crostini: Spread herbed whip on crostini. Top with a ribbon of smoked salmon, a few capers, and a dill sprig. Finish with a squeeze of lemon and flaky sea salt.
  • Cucumber Cups With Chicken Salad: Slice an English cucumber into thick rounds. Use a small spoon to scoop a shallow well. Mix shredded rotisserie chicken with 1 tbsp Dijon, 1 tsp honey, 1 tbsp lemon juice, 1 tbsp olive oil, salt, and pepper. Spoon into cups and top with chives.
  • Strawberry Goat Cheese Bites: Halve strawberries and gently scoop a small indentation. Fill with goat cheese (softened), drizzle with honey, and add a mint leaf. A dot of balsamic glaze makes them extra fancy.
  • Caprese Skewers: Thread a cherry tomato, a mini mozzarella ball, and a basil leaf onto a toothpick. Drizzle with olive oil and balsamic glaze. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  • Radish Butter Toasts: Spread softened butter on mini toasts or crackers. Add thinly sliced radishes. Sprinkle with flaky salt and chives. Simple and stunning.
  • Prosciutto-Wrapped Grapes (Optional): Wrap seedless grapes in very thin prosciutto strips. Secure with a skewer. Add a microgreen on the platter for a pop of color.
  • Avocado Parmesan Crisps: On a lined baking sheet, spoon small mounds of grated Parmesan (about 2 tsp each). Bake at 400°F (205°C) for 5–6 minutes until lacy and golden. Cool, then top with mashed avocado, lemon, and everything bagel seasoning.
  • Plate With Intention: Group by color and height. Use white platters to let the food shine and add microgreens or edible flowers for a soft, celebratory touch.
