Refreshing Nespresso Iced Coffee Recipes for Hot Summer Days - Cool, Simple, and Flavorful

Prep Time 5 minutes
Total Time 5 minutes
Servings 2 servings

Ingredients

  • Nespresso pods (espresso or lungo; try Ice Leggero, Arpeggio, or Colombia)
  • Ice (regular cubes or large-format cubes)
  • Milk or milk alternatives (whole milk, oat, almond, soy, or coconut)
  • Sweetener (simple syrup, honey, agave, maple syrup, or vanilla syrup)
  • Flavor add-ins (vanilla extract, cinnamon, cocoa powder, caramel sauce, or chocolate syrup)
  • Citrus (lemon or orange peel) for a twist
  • Fresh mint (optional)
  • Cold water or sparkling water (optional)
  • Ice cream or gelato (optional, for a float)

Instructions

  • Prep your glass: Fill a tall glass to the top with ice. For extra chill, place the glass in the freezer for 5 minutes first.
  • Brew the coffee: Use 1–2 Nespresso espresso pods (about 1.35 oz each) or a lungo (about 3.7 oz) directly over the ice. Brewing hot over ice cools the coffee fast and keeps flavors bright.
  • Sweeten while warm: If you like a sweet drink, stir in 1–2 teaspoons of simple syrup or flavored syrup right after brewing. Sweeteners mix best when the coffee is still warm. Avoid granulated sugar unless you’ve made a syrup.
  • Add milk (optional): Pour in 1/4 to 1/2 cup of your choice of milk. Whole milk is creamy, oat milk adds body and a mild sweetness, and almond milk keeps it light and nutty.
  • Adjust strength: For a lighter drink, add 2–3 ounces of cold water. For a brighter, spritz-like finish, top with a splash of sparkling water.
  • Flavor it: Add a few drops of vanilla extract, a pinch of cinnamon, or a drizzle of caramel or chocolate syrup. Stir well to combine.
  • Finish and serve: Garnish with a strip of lemon or orange peel, or a sprig of mint. Taste and tweak sweetness, milk, or ice as needed. Enjoy right away.
